Journaling My Bullet Journal

I’ve decided to switch to a bullet journal.

Anyone who spends time around me knows how attached to my phone I am. It’s convenient, it’s easy and it’s super useful to have what you need in one place. Yet somehow, I have ended up with some ungodly number of apps for each thing. A calendar, a to do list, I have a separate paper journal and I still carry around a notebook for random notes plus scratch paper.

I haven’t developed a good way to organise my writing ideas. I don’t know what to do with all the meeting notes. I have a work calendar and a personal calendar. I wanted to be able to track things like exercise and sleep.

Plus I love Pinterest and paper crafts.

My first attempt was fine, but I quickly discovered that my inexpensive notebook didn’t hold up to my preference for writing with markers and my heavy hand. I wanted something more personal and more durable.

Round two, I shelled out (like an insane person) to print lined and graphed card stock, which I had hole punched. Then I designed my own book.

It’s essentially a monthly agenda, with a calendar, a week and day planner, my journal, space to track things I want to track (savings, sleep, exercise) plus writing ideas. The concept is that I can change it out every month.

It’s a bit of a work in progress but I’m going to try it for September and see how it goes.
