“Early on in MTV’s life cycle, the novelty of the video wore off.” -Van Toffler
MTV is one of the few channels usually on in English and, shockingly enough, plays a lot of music videos. In fact, something like half of the daily programming is videos.
Since nothing else is on (in English), I’ve been watching a lot of music videos lately. I assumed that music videos were a dying art, being killed off by “Pimp My Ride” and “My Sweet 16”, but I’ve been happy to discover some really fun, interesting, and entertaining videos, as well as really good music.
Eliza Doolitte – Skinny Genes
(I’d like to doo her a lot.)
Martin Solveig and Dragonette – Hello
(I had no idea tennis was played on clay courts.)
La Roux – Bulletproof
Mumford and Sons – The Cave
(Seeing how this video was made is really interesting.)
